IESO's 2018 Energy Manager of the Year - Most Innovative Project Award

Markham is proud to accept IESO’s 2018 Energy Manager of the Year, Most Innovative Project Award for the redesign and standardization of the Building Automation Systems (BAS) for Markham’s entire building fleet.

The award is for projects that reflect thought and design that push the project outside of the norm, and are especially effective because of the ways they set new precedents.

Amanda Martin and Aaron Cheung from Markham’s Sustainability & Asset Management Department set a new streamlined design standard that consolidates the monitoring and control of the Building Automation Systems and major equipment in each of Markham’s facilities into one simplified, easier to access and manage platform.

Now, thanks to the team’s work, all of the systems and equipment in Markham’s integrated facilities can be monitored and controlled remotely.

This is a standard that many municipalities have been struggling with and are seeking to replicate, which positions Amanda and her team as leaders in innovative practices in the field. Congratulations, Amanda and team! #MarkhamProud
