Communications Apprentice (GTA)

Related Pre-Apprenticeship training (Network Cabling Specialist, Electrical EngineeringTechnology)
Previous experience in a service or construction environment is an asset
Ability to provide exceptional customer service through clear and consistent verbal communication and detailed written reporting
Completion of Working at Heights and Elevated Work Platform training considered an asset
Valid Ontario Driver’s license and insurable on our fleet policy
Ability to obtain a clean security clearance check
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Service Controls Specialist

Responsibilities

Effectively work as a technical professional by delivering high quality and prompt services to clients
Ensure service project costs are within budgets and achieve repair targets as formulated in conjunction with the Operations Manager
Oversee and execute field installation and testing as well as service and commission DDC systems with exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
Trouble-shoot systems and provide hands on work to support the operation of the Viridian Service function

Requirements

Engineering Technologist, or similar experience
Strong knowledge of electronic and pneumatic controls and starter circuitry
Knowledge of building mechanical systems, building controls applications, electrical wiring and control circuits
Field experience in HVAC systems
Ability to troubleshoot, repair and remedy automation problems in the field
A practical knowledge of electronics, particularly the application of relays, transducers, sensors and other building control components
PC skills, including development of spreadsheet programs and use of word processing and database software
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to organize multiple priorities and to set and meet personal goals and deadlines
Ability to represent the company in a professional manner
Familiarity with electrical testing equipment such as multi-meters, etc.
Strong focus on customer service
Able to work in a team environment and with a minimum amount of direction
Demonstration of mechanical aptitude
Good judgment and problem solving skills
Competent at programming in languages and software tools such as BASIC, C++, Visio. AutoCad
Valid Ontario Driver’s License and access to own vehicle
Ability to obtain a security clearance check
Ability to participate in on call rotation
